Rango is a smart, giddily creative burst of beautifully animated entertainment, and Johnny Depp gives a colorful vocal performance as a household pet in an unfamiliar world. Read critic reviews

Oct 28, 2017Much better than I expected, Full of some great Entertaining scenes and some funny laughs to be had too, Some if not most of the comedy felt like it would go over the target audiences head as allot of jokes only adults would understand fully but it does have its slapstick moments that the kids will love, The animation was good, I can't comment on the 3D as I watched the 2D version, With a great voice cast this film can be enjoyed by all the family.Jamie C Super Reviewer

Jan 13, 2014Verbinski's highly creative 3D reimagining of the western genre is a visual feast to behold, full with twists, action, comedy, dangerous characters and almost all the cherished trademarks that you would have liked to see in the genre. Out of the several 3D animated films that have received high acclaim and appraisal, this one lived up to its own hype more accurately. <i>Rango</i>'s influences are primarily spaghetti. It is a positive aspect that it didn't try to compile the different western styles that can be found between the 30s and the 70s, because it gave the characters, the plot and the style a more polished and focused direction. Even if using Timothy Olyphant to portray Clint Eastwood's "Man with No Name" is a rather insulting thing to do, this is creativity not at its finest form, but definitely visionary and thoroughly refreshing (with hidden gags that only Spanish speakers may get, heh). 72/100Edgar C Super Reviewer

Nov 02, 2013This film is a gem. Great story. The film pays homage to movies like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Apocalypse Now, and Clint Eastwood's The Man with No Name trilogy, just to name a few. The film is also hilarious. Johnny Depp shines here. I thought this film was much better than his Lone Ranger film. All the other voice actors do a great job in their roles. I definitely recommend this film.Sol C Super Reviewer

May 31, 2013Loved it, especially all the spaghetti Western touches. Johnny Deep does his usual top flight work. I was surprised at the range in his voice in this one.Morris N Super Reviewer
