Feb 21, 2021The opening scene of Predator is just one of many classic shots as a bucket full of testosterone and steroids piles out of the helicopter, including Carl Weathers, Jesse Ventura and of course Arnold and more. I was surprised that the length is only an hour and 45 minutes. My recollection, confirmed on this re-watch, is that it feels way too long. That is basically due to the fact that the first 45 minutes, as they trudge endlessly through the rain forest and take out a "rebel" village, adds nothing to the story. But once the Predator shows up and starts taking people out, the action and entertainment is phenomenal. The Predator is the best alien design since, well, Alien. I think that's why the Predator concept spawned so many movies, comics, Alien cross-overs and more. What's odd to me is nearly every single follow-on movie is utterly forgettable. I'm cool with that. Sep 12, 2018Boasting furious action, oozing its obvious machismo and intensifying the tension after each encounter of the intergalactic slayer, Predator is a macho-fun film that takes advantage of its blessing of a one-liner titan in Schwarzenegger as well as its quirky supporting cast to make for a landmark 80s picture for its time. 4.6/5

Dec 25, 2015A search and rescue mission turned haywire when an unknown alien began stalking and killing the rescue team. Sschwarznegger didn't really have his best performance but the story was refreshing and there was enough both violence and action to satisfy film buffs.Sylvester K Super Reviewer
